Next Gen Ministry & Resources

Family Ministry

What Is NextGen Ministry?

NextGen Ministry seeks to partner the church and family to help lead the Next Generation to Christ. It includes our Preschool, Children and Student Ministries.

How Do We Partner Together? We Do That in Two Ways...

1) We use a strategy to spiritually grow children. It Includes benchmarks for each “phase” of childhood.

2) We offer resources that help families grow spiritually.

Whether a parent, grandparent, aunt or uncle has the responsibility for the spiritual growth of a child, we are here to help!

What is our strategy?

It's simple. It starts with two individual influences in a child’s life HOME & CHURCH

Alone, these two work hard to ensure that every child has a BETTER FUTURE

But when they’re combined, the home and church will have a GREATER IMPACT

Vision for Cross City Preschool Ministry

Awana Core Principles
1. An Awana Ministry is centered on the gospel.
2. It is high spiritual content.
3. It is fun and exciting for young people.
4. It is built on strong leadership.
5. It trains children and youth to serve.
6. It strengthens the church/parent partnership.

The Gospel Project
The Gospel Project takes kids on a Christ-centered, chronological journey through Scripture. Kids will discover how the gospel unfolds from Genesis through Revelation. When kids truly experience the gospel, their hearts are transformed. It is the gospel, not good behavior, that changes everything.

I need to make the wise choice. I can trust God no matter what. I should treat others the way I want to be treated.

Preteen Competencies

Our curriculum allows us, the church, to incorporate our own benchmarks into what we’re learning each week. By the time your child completes 6th grade in Cross City Kids they will be able to do the following:

Know and locate the books of the Bible, their basic grouping, specific passages and key biblical people and events.
Learn and share the truth of the Gospel message.
Learn and use spiritual gifts.

Establish and practice spiritual disciplines.
