We believe that everyone who chooses to follow Jesus should have a place where they gather with other believers to worship God, grow together, serve others, and enjoy real life. We believe that this place is bound by a covenant relationship, a commitment of the heart.
When the church started 2,000 years ago, they didn’t have a building—they had each other! The Bible paints a beautiful picture of people worshiping, praying together, taking care of each other, and doing life together. A commitment to each other is how the church started, and it’s still that way today! If we want to experience real life, we’ve got to do life together.
The Bible describes the church as a body, and each person as a different part. The parts aren’t made to work alone; they are different pieces in a beautiful system of life. Every person is unique, and each is valuable. When we join a local “body” of believers, we discover how we fit and can use those God-given gifts for our God-given purpose. That’s where real life begins to take shape.
The church is charged with reaching the world with the hope that we’ve discovered. There is simply no better way to get this done than the church. It’s how we get organized, get trained and get going. We mobilize people to serve in places both very near and very far from us. We have strategies to reach the Mid-Cities, our state, our country, and the world.
