Lead Pastor
John Meador has served as the senior pastor of Cross City Church since 2006. He is deeply committed to the Word of God and passionate about teaching it creatively, driven by his love for seeing lives transformed by its power. Under his leadership, Cross City has grown into an intergenerational, multi-ethnic, mission-focused church with five venues across two locations. His heart and vision have shaped Cross City into a place that reaches both the local community and the wider world. John believes that those who carry the Gospel can leave a lasting impact, and he challenges everyone he leads to be culture-changers, bringing the good news to the world around them.
A significant part of John’s story is rooted in adversity. As a young child, he suffered from a severe illness that caused irreversible hearing loss, leaving him profoundly deaf. This has allowed him to experience God’s grace in unique and powerful ways, turning disappointment into hope and purpose. One of his favorite Bible verses is Philippians 4:13: “I can do all things through Him who strengthens me.” You can learn more about his story at I Am Second.
Since 1985, John has pastored churches in Oklahoma, Tennessee, and Texas. He and his wife Kim have been married for over 45 years, and together they have six grown children and one amazing granddaughter. John enjoys guns, “real” sports, building things, and cruising around in his classic OBS Ford F-150.
John’s new book, God’s Not Done With You, shares personal and biblical stories of how God brings people through challenging and often paralyzing situations. In His supreme sovereignty, God causes the best things to emerge from the worst circumstances in ways only He can.
